Stop by the Noah Ogle Cabin on your way in. In season, Roaring Fork Motor Trail is a gem. The famous Arrowmont School has galleries you can visit. There are various "malls" along the strip that offer unique items and artisan galleries. If you've never walked the strip, you might find you enjoy it. There are really good restaurants along the Loop, too. You could spend days watching demonstrations and talking to the gifted artisans in the Arts & Crafts Community (). There is a parking garage behind the aquarium (it was $10 when we arrived one evening), in July there was parking at the school on the road beside Anakeesta (it was $15 in the morning when we went shopping) or parking in the lots surrounding Anakeesta (I've seen that lot could be anywhere from $15 to $20 depending on who you asked).Īnswer: Agree with the suggestions above.
#Things to do in gatlinburg for adults for free
You can try River Street for free parking, but the warning there is that cars are tight-packed and you may get stuck. You can park at any one of the trolley spots for free and get off at the aquarium. If you are looking for parking, you have several options that are close. Our favorites were the Donut Friar the Day Hiker Zi Olive The Sock Shop The Spice & Tea Exchange and Misty Mountain Soap Co. There is the front entrance on the main drag and a back entrance as well. One shop we saw offered a cash price and a charge price, so be prepared for the different payment options. These are fun, quaint shops set in an old world village with brick streets and Old English style buildings, fountains, and small tables to sit. Overall, it was a nice place to get some beautiful views from the mountain and do some interesting rides. The staff was pleasant at each of the different parts (chairlift, shops, tram). The toboggan was closed due to rain/lightning in the area so I did not get to try that. The zoo was very basic but had several bears in the outdoor enclosure and smaller animals in a building off to the side. Both moving rides afford nice views of the mountain. You can purchase tickets right inside the door as you enter. All of the above were open and available to include the restaurants. This is a typical ski area in the winter months but during the summer months, when I went, it was summertime. There is a chairlift, icerink, Tram, zoo, shopping, and a toboggan ride. There are several items to see and do at the “mall”. The drive is up a mountain road and may not be for nervous drivers. There is a large parking lot at the bottom and a small lot at the site. Parking, Food and Beverage, and Rentals are not included with this event ticket. This site can be accessed either by taking the tram from the bottom of the mountain or by driving up to the site. The event ticket includes admission to the park during the Taylor Time hour and allows the ticket holder to enjoy Soaky Mountain Waterpark during operating hours on the day of the event.Taylor Time is a special event and not included in the pass holder program.I am a pass holder, is this event included? No, while Boomer’s Bay is meant for our younger guests, the Soaky Surge and Snake Den tube rides are fun for all ages.Of course, they are, understand they will also need an event ticket.I have a child that would really enjoy Taylor Time, but is the rest of the family welcome too? Please understand that the experience will not maintain low sensory after 10 am.Taylor Time event ticket holders are welcome to stay for the remainder of the operating day.Soaky Surge, The Snake Den Tube Rides, and the Boomer’s Bay children’s area will be open.Ĭan event ticket holders stay for the rest of the operating day?.What rides will be open during Taylor Time? Guest capacity is to restricted to 500 people to reduce crowds and wait times drastically.Additional staffing in the areas to provide support in the form of information and direction.Music is left off until Taylor Time is over and will begin quietly increasing.Rides are contained to a section of the park focusing on attractions with low stress and can be done in tandem.
